What Is Random Access Memory/RAM ? Posted: 11 Jan 2012 12:39 PM PST Random Access Memory or RAM, is a type of memory where the data is stored in a computer and can be randomly accessed in contrast to other electronic data that has to be accessed in a fixed order. A tape for example, can only be accessed in a fixed arrangement according to the revolutions of the electromagnetic tape. RAM is also defined as a type of memory that is not sequential in nature and can be accessed in any manner, even while the computer is on.
