There is no doubt about it. Drinking pure, perfect drinking water is an essential requirement for keeping healthy and disease free. Our body is more than 70% water, so you can imagine what effect it can have if you drink water containing impurities inside. No body process and no organ will work correctly in such a scenario.
Now, you just cannot rely on the powers that be and hope that the water you get in your taps would be thoroughly filtered and free from all contaminants. Water distribution companies have their own limits on the extent they can go for water filtration, and its thorough cleansing is just not possible. The financial logistics would only allow them to dump chlorine into the water to kill the bacteria inside. Any more sophisticated water purification process would be beyond their budgets.
If you need pure, perfect drinking water, you need to take matters in your own hands. Instead of relying on the municipals or water companies, you need to purify the water in your own home just before it's about to be consumed. This is the only way you can be sure you are not ingesting any pollutants along with the water.
You should install a quality water purifier in your home. Look for a purifier that combines multiple purification techniques so to be able to remove all the different kinds of impurities from the water.
Carbon filtration is a tried and tested way of removing dirt and organic matter from the water effectively.
Sub micron filtration tackles those hard to remove chemical traces like chlorine, pharmaceutical drugs and pesticides, which common purifiers like RO systems cannot handle.
Ion Exchange removes the heavy metals like lead and iron from the water and also restores the ph balance in it.
A combination of these powerful techniques ensures the water you get is really pure and free from all types of impurities. Also importantly, the natural mineral content of the water is not disturbed, which other filter types like RO systems and Distillers actually remove. As you can imagine, this is not good for health and the resultant mineral deficiencies can cause many health problems later.
Also note that just installing a filter on your tap is not the complete solution. You may get pure drinking water, but the water you bathe in will still be contaminated. So you need to install a shower filter too. A whole house water purifier is also an option if you do not want the hassle of setting up multiple filters in your kitchen and all the bathrooms.
Whichever option you choose, just make sure to choose a quality purifier to get that perfect drinking water.
